FAQs

Here, we address key questions about our offerings, guiding you to select the perfect session and prepare for an exceptional experience.

What exactly is breathwork?

Breathwork is a guided practice that uses specific breathing techniques to support nervous system regulation, reduce stress, and process emotions. By consciously changing the rhythm and depth of the breath, the body can shift out of survival mode and into a calmer, more regulated state.

I often work with Conscious Connected Breathing - a gentle but powerful technique where the breath flows continuously without pauses. This style of breathing can help release held tension and stress patterns, support awareness, regulation, and emotional processing.

What is ThetaHealing®?

ThetaHealing® is a meditative practice that supports deep relaxation and awareness by guiding the brain into a theta state - a calm, receptive state often accessed during meditation or deep rest. From this place, we can explore subconscious patterns and emotional responses that may be contributing to stress or overwhelm, supporting greater clarity and ease.

Many people find ThetaHealing® helps them experience greater clarity, improved well-being, and personal transformation in both mind and body.

Why follow the moon?

Working with the moon is offered as a reflective framework rather than a belief system - helping us pause, review, and set intentions in rhythm with natural cycles.

The moon moves through different phases - new, waxing, full, and waning - each carrying its own energy. By aligning our practices with these natural rhythms, we can harness their unique qualities to support our own cycles of growth and renewal.

New Moon - a time for fresh starts and intention-setting

Waxing Moon - energy for action and momentum

Full Moon - illumination, clarity, and release

Waning Moon - reflection, rest, and letting go

Working with the moon helps you live and create more intentionally, staying connected to both nature and your personal goals.

What do I bring to a session?

In the studio:

  • A pillow and blanket are provided

  • You may wish to bring an extra pillow or blanket for added comfort

  • A bottle of water

  • A journal and pen for any reflections afterwards

  • Most importantly, an open mind and a willingness to connect with yourself

Online sessions:

  • A quiet, private space where you won’t be disturbed

  • A comfortable spot to lie down (bed, sofa, or yoga mat if you prefer)

  • A blanket and pillow for support

  • Headphones for the best sound quality

  • A bottle of water

  • A journal and pen for afterwards

What shall I wear to a session?

Wear something loose, comfortable, and easy to move and breathe in. Think soft clothing like leggings, joggers, or relaxed layers. Avoid anything too tight around the waist or chest.

You may also like to bring warm socks or an extra layer, as your body temperature can drop slightly during deep relaxation.

Is breathwork suitable for everyone?

Breathwork is safe for most people, but it may not be suitable if you have certain health conditions, including:

  • Severe heart or cardiovascular issues

  • Uncontrolled high blood pressure

  • Epilepsy or seizure disorders

  • Glaucoma or retinal detachment

  • Recent surgery or major injury

  • Pregnancy (unless adapted)

  • Severe psychiatric conditions

If you’re unsure, please consult your doctor before joining a session.

What is a cacao ceremony?

A cacao ceremony is a guided practice using ceremonial-grade cacao - a pure form of cacao prepared as a warm, heart-opening drink. In my work, cacao is used as a supportive element within a guided, regulated experience - not as a stimulant or altered-state practice.

Cacao has been used for centuries in indigenous traditions as a sacred traditional ceremonial drink to support connection, clarity, and inner healing.

In ceremony, we come together in a safe, intentional space to slow down, set intentions, and support emotional awareness. Alongside drinking cacao, the session may include meditation, breathwork, sharing, or gentle rituals that help you release what no longer serves and connect more deeply with yourself.

Many people leave feeling lighter, more grounded, and inspired.

How will I feel after a session?

Everyone’s experience is unique, but many people leave feeling:

  • Calm, lighter, and deeply relaxed

  • Clearer in mind and more connected to themselves

  • Energised and uplifted, with a sense of release

Sometimes breathwork or healing can also bring emotions to the surface. This is a natural part of the process and usually followed by a sense of clarity and renewal.

You’ll always be guided to take your time afterwards, ground yourself, and integrate the experience gently.

Responses vary, and integration continues after the session as the nervous system settles and adapts.

Before a session

  • Avoid heavy meals or alcohol beforehand

  • Arrive hydrated (bring water with you)

  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing

  • Come with an open mind and no expectations

Is ThetaHealing® suitable for everyone?

ThetaHealing® is a gentle practice, but it may not be suitable for everyone. It is not a replacement for medical treatment, and those with serious mental health conditions, epilepsy, or who are currently experiencing psychosis or delusional episodes should seek advice from a medical professional before taking part.

Always consult your healthcare provider if you are unsure whether ThetaHealing® is right for you..

Aftercare Tips

  • Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated

  • Take some quiet time to rest or reflect

  • Journal any insights or emotions that arose

  • Be gentle with yourself and avoid rushing straight back into busyness

Is cacao safe for everyone?

Cacao is safe for most people, but as it is a natural stimulant, it may not be suitable if you:

  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding

  • Have a serious heart condition or high blood pressure

  • Take antidepressants (particularly MAOIs or SSRIs)

  • Are sensitive to caffeine or stimulants

If you’re unsure, it’s best to check with your healthcare provider before attending.
